THE FUTURE OF DANCE COMPANY is established in 2015 by a set of young lads (all teenagers)emerged from a popular community known for positive Art activities BARIGA, LAGOS. The group is one of the most preeminent, creative, multi talented company known for their prowess in dance theatre performances in conventional and unconventional spaces.
They curate, installation works, theatre works , dance works, compose with different natural elements. Thus the group is also known for using art as a social tool for community development. The group is known in the realm of “ART”, with their graduation project called ‘UNTITLED SERIES‘, a protest dance piece that led to the repair of 20 major roads in the community of Bariga, Lagos by the former governor of the state (HIS EXCELLENCY AKINWUNMI AMBODE) and this dance piece was documented and published on African dance journal 2018, Their eight years intense study from the Crown Troupe of Africa, Monster Truck (Germany), B.A.P Production, Footprints of David, with series of mentorship that they enjoyed from various artistes in the field, was a good millage on the growth of the company
This company was formed to Unify the community and world culture through contemporary arts and African traditional Performance productions, art events, commissions, videos, commercials.
THE FUTURE OF DANCE COMPANY is a performing arts organization that uses culture in connecting young people In Nigeria to the globe and adults through the creative arts and culture in an accessible way, empowering diverse communities by supporting creative holistic projects, contributing to social change.
